The new route will start from the Mediterranean’s largest seaport city; Alexandria before heading south toward Cairo, the vibrant capital of Egypt. From Cairo, the challenge heads deep into the Western Desert, visiting three iconic oases: Bahariya, Dakhla, and Kharga, each rich in history and surrounded by striking desert landscapes. From there, the route turns east toward Luxor, the capital of ancient Egypt and the world’s largest open-air museum, where participants will enjoy a rest day exploring its magnificent temples and monuments.
From Luxor, the participants will cross the rugged mountains of the Eastern Desert—one of the most challenging deserts on the face of the planet due to its rock formations and high mountain ranges—heading toward the Red Sea to reach Hurghada, part of Egypt’s stunning Red Sea Riviera and famous for its crystal-clear waters and vibrant marine life. From Hurghada, the challenge will continue north along the shores of the Red Sea to the beautiful coastal destination of Ain Sokhna.
The final leg of the season will then take place between Ain Sokhna and Cairo, where the season will conclude in one of the most ancient and sacred places in Egypt and the world, beneath the majestic Red Pyramid of Dahshour.
