  Thursday, October 16th, 2014 - Route Change

Due to heavy road maintenance between the three major oasis in the Egyptian Western Desert, the route of the 2014 season of Cross Egypt Challenge had a slight change. Two new wild destinations have been added to the existing route including the magnificent Abu Simbel Temple at the very southern boarder of Egypt and Assiout.

  Thursday, July 10th, 2014 - Fees update

The registration fees for the 2014 season of Cross Egypt Challenge has been updated to reflect the current increase of fuel prices in Egypt. Fuel prices has witnessed a 40%-78% increase in Egypt in the past week which slightly affected the cost registration for Cross Egypt Challenge.

 

On the other hand, motorcycle rental fees for international participants has been decreased due to successful negotiations with our suppliers.

  Saturday, March 1st, 2014 - 2014 registration is open

Registration for the long anticipated 2014 season of Cross Egypt Challenge is now open. This season will run over the course of 9 days and will cover a 3000 km route that runs through some of Egypt's best destinations.

  Monday, February 24th, 2014 - BREAKING NEWS!

The technical team of Cross Egypt Challenge has announced earlier today that both motorcycles and scooters will be approved to participate in the 2014 season of Cross Egypt Challenge. This is great news for motorcycle riders as until now Cross Egypt Challenge participation was limited only to scooters.

 

The motorcycle acceptance criteria and technical guidelines will be announced at the beginning of March 2014 when registration for the new season opens.

 

 
  Thursday, February 20th, 2014 - 2014 route is finalized

The new route for the 2014 season of Cross Egypt Challenge was finalized.

 

The 2014 season of Cross Egypt Challenge will begin from the Mediterranean's largest coastal city, Alexandria then pass through the Capital - Cairo - en route to the Red Sea's resort Sokhna before going South to visit the amazing resort cities of El Gouna and Marsa Alam on the Red Sea shore. The challenge will then head west to the Nile valley to visit Aswan and the ancient city of Luxor, the world's largest open air museum city, and  the capital of Ancient Egypt.

 

From Luxor the riders will head North west to explore some of the most fascinating oasis of the Egyptian Sahara (desert). A total number of 4 oasis will be explored on route before the final leg of the 2014 season of Cross Egypt Challenge takes place between Bahareya Oasis and Cairo to end the new season under the Great Pyramids of Giza,

 

With a carefully planned route ,the 2014 season of Cross Egypt Challenge will pass through many of Egypt's finest spots including modern cities, coastal resorts, historical sites, Egyptian Eastern and Western deserts and Egypt's Nile Valley. This is the longest and most challenging route to date and includes a total distance of 3000 KM to be covered over the course of  9 days.

  Sunday, February 16h, 2014 - New route is explored

Cross Egypt Challenge technical team has conducted an exploration trip for parts of the suggested route for the 2014 season this past weekend to investigate the nature of roads and determine the suitability of different route options to be included in the 2014 route.

 

More than 1100 km were carefully investigated, and a final decision is currently being made on which roads will be most suitable for our new route. The route for the 2014 season of Cross Egypt Challenge looks very exciting.
